Royal Air Maroc continues to expand its international route network, with the inauguration of a new destination to the Americas and another to Asia. These operations will be performed by Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured for 274 and 302 passengers, respectively.

The Moroccan airline will launch services between Casablanca and Toronto starting December 8th. According to the press release, RAM will have three weekly flights on this route, offering 822 seats a week each way.

Toronto Pearson will become Royal Air Maroc’s second connection in Canada after Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport. In addition, the carrier will reach five routes in North America, including the United States, and six in the Americas, with the resumption of flights to South America in December.

“The new Casablanca-Toronto route responds primarily to strong demand from Moroccans living in Canada, especially in Ontario,” stated Abdelhamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc. “The route will enhance the company’s extensive service, which includes the historic Casablanca-Montreal route since 1975. This addition will provide even more convenience and comfort to our citizens residing in Canada.”

At the time of publication, in the Morocco-Canada market, Air Canada, Air Transat and RAM have scheduled flights to/from Montreal.

Air Canada and Royal Air Maroc have six and fourteen weekly operations between Montreal and Casablanca using Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and Air Transat two services per week on the YUL – Marrakesh route with Airbus A321neo and Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Furthermore, as of January 20th, 2025, the Oneworld member will resume operations to China following a five-year suspension. Royal Air Maroc will fly between Casablanca and Beijing Daxing, with three weekly frequencies on 787-9s.

The airline will become the first and only to operate in the Morocco-China market. Prior to COVID-19, in January 2020, RAM had inaugurated this route, but it had to be suspended a few weeks later due to flight restrictions because of the pandemic.
